Summer SMART Goal

My goal for the summer is to try to make a Standards Based Grading program for the Algebra 2 Concepts class that I will be teaching in the fall.

  • SPECIFIC - The program will need to fit the Algebra 2 standards
  • MEASURABLE - I can easily see if my program matches the standards
  • ATTAINABLE - I (hope) that I can achieve this goal as it will only be for one class
  • REALISTIC - I will have time throughout the summer to continue working on this program
  • TIMELY - I will be teaching this class in the fall, so I will need this ready by September.

  1. Once you have your standard based grading outlined and take time this summer to think through it, leave it, them think through it more, you are going to be so happy with a solid foundation to start grading with! It may not be perfect at first but having something you've spent time on and are confident in is going to be awesome! Good luck!

  2. I hope you find some time to enjoy yourself this summer. That is quite an undertaking, but it will be rewarding. Enjoy!

  3. I couldn't agree more with Holly and Shawn...it will be tough but it will be well worth it come fall!! Good luck and check stuff out online...why rewrite the wheel by yourself when it might already be done and just need some minor tweeking to fit your curriculum!!
